PAGE 9 Continued

Nove. 12
Leaving bivwack area for position at 4:30 P.M.

Nove. 13
At position at 7:30 P.M. Worked all night putting guns in barricade, got no sleep.
We are about 10 miles from the front, can hear the guns blasting away.

Nove. 17
Left position for another place nearer the front.  Left the position around midnight
& got to the position near the city of Picilli about 5 miles from the front. We tried
to set up in a field but the trucks got stuck so they moved to another field.
My tractor is stuck in the roading, blocking the way, so myself & a few other drivers are stuck here.

Today is Sunday Nove 21 & we’re still here.  We’re sleeping in a hand made cave & are doing O.K. They bring our chow to us.  The guns are blasting
