Feb 20 continued:
about 2 miles from where we are set up as Anti-tank. Bombers went over & also dive bombers.  Jerrys sure catching hell.  Jerry threw over quite a few shells our way and missed our house by a few feet, thank god. 
Jerry came over around 12:30 this morning & dropped quite a few bombs around this section.

Feb. 23
Our gun was hit by an 88 shell about 12 noon & wounding the guard.
The guard got 5 small peaces of shrapnel in him, god was watching over him.
The gun was knocked out of commission.  Beings the gun couldn’t fire we got ready to go back to the battery, & were glad of that.  We left our ‘kavc & A.T. position at dusk, hard

Feb.23 continued:
time to pull gun out of hole.
Jerry sent over 3 very close over while we were getting ready to leave.  After living in the house over 2 weeks we’re pretty lucky no shells hit the house & no one getting hurt or killed & we all had some mighty close calls.  Thank guard we are back with the battery. -(Sentence is correctly copied)
While we were at the front the battery had about 35 raids.
The night of the 19th Jerry dropped a bomb 500 lb. on the battery & it landed on the edge of our pit.  Lucky we weren’t there.  (When I spoke to George Sellarole Jr. at the age of 85 this was the one event he made a point of mentioning.  He believed God had spared them much like Harry Doremus in his letter to his wife during World War I where he states “We are in a sector that is violently active. So it is that only God allows the breath of life to stay here, to stop there. As the book says, ‘the one shall be taken, the other left.'")
On the 21st. Jerry came over & dropped a mess of persanel-(?) & wounding
4 men, (2 Lts. & 2 Privates.)

Feb. 24 & 25
Had a raid around 8 P.M. lasted for ½ hour.  We came out 5 times up till around 3A.M.  Jerry came over with one plane each time. Its
