Nov. 25 continued:
Fired 50, total of 200 for Btry.  Whole battalion fired 800 rounds.  Up all night & still haven’t gotten any sleep.

Nove 26
P. 40’s & B-25’s bombed hell out of the Jerries on Mt.  We saw it all.  Jerry still firing at us & around this area.

Dec. 5
Had a few good days since the 26th of Nove. & American planes bombed hell over the Jerrie lines & artillery shelled all night for two nights straight at Mt. Casnio (Million dollar Mt.) shelled the Mt. heavy.  They say the Jerries bleed from the concussion from the nose, mouth & ears.
Was to Naples last night & came back this morning.
Slept in a bed for the first time in a year, it felt good.  Naples a pretty nice place. Saw Vesuvious Volcano last night, & its sure worth while seeing

PAGE 11 Continued

Dec. 5 continued:
It’s a pretty sight, seeing fire come out of the top of a Mt.

Dec. 7
Btry. getting ready to move about 5 miles pretty near the foot of Mt. Cassino.

Dec. 8
All of Battery except 50 men moved up. Being I’m a jeep driver & O’Hearn, also a jeep driver, stayed with the Battery Commanders & went up to new position & I stayed with the 50 men staying behind as the rear echelon. (Didn’t last long)

Dec. 10
At 12:30 A.M. the Jerries threw quite a few shells over our heads & visa versa.  Pat Lawson was hit with a piece of Shrapnel in the leg.  This happened up at the new position.  He’s the first casualty of Btry. C.

Dec. 16
I moved up to the rest of the Btry.
