Air Force Civilian Award for Valor Medal
Awarded to Air Force employees exhibiting great courage and who voluntarily risks personal safety beyond the call of duty such as approaching or entering a burning aircraft in an attempt to rescue trapped victim. This award can be presented by the Chief of Staff, United States Air Force or a major commander. The Air Force Command Civilian Award for Valor Medal was approved by the Secretary of the Air Force in 1965.
