On some of the veterans’ individual pages, it states that they have received a military ribbon. This honor indicates that they have received the corresponding medal also, but the medal itself was sent home. While in the service, the soldier would wear only the ribbon part of the medal. However, there are ribbons awarded that do not have a medal associated with it.

            Additionally, on some of the veterans’ individual pages, it states that a service member received a Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster.  This honor indicates that the veteran has received a certain medal more than once..
When the veterans received five Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, it is replaced with a Silver Oak leaf Cluster.
