Cited For Action In Pacific

William H. Morrow, of
635 Trenton Street , River Edge Manor, has been awarded the air medal meritorious service in
aerial flight.

.....The son of Mr. and Mrs. John Morrow, of
60 Temple Avenue, Hackensack, he recently married the former Roberta Mackel of River Edge. He is employed by a tobacco company as a salesman, and is attending Pace Institute. The citation, given by the President and signed by the then Secretary of the Navy James Forrestall, reads;

....."For meritorious achievement in aerial flight as a crewman of a bomber plane in Bombing Squadron Twelve, attached to the U.S.S Randolf, during operations against enemy forces in the vicinity of the Japanese homeland and adjacent islands from February 16 to May 3, 1945. Completing his fifth mission during the period, Morrow rendered invaluable assistance to his to his pilot and contributed to the infliction of extensive damage on enemy shipping, air fields, and instillations. His courage and skill were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.
