Robert Mathieson Casualty Details Banner

The above information was obtained from:

When I was assigned Robert Mathieson, the first thing that I did was read his file. In the file that I was given, it did not mention where he originated or where his parents originated. I began to do a little research on the Mathieson family and I found a link to “The Great War Forum”. This website is a place where people can discuss and search for a soldier from the First World War. I proceeded to register for the site so I could search for his name. When doing so, I came to a discussion in which somebody had wrote that they found a picture with Mathieson's name on the back. I clicked on the link that they provided and it brought me to a website called “The Long, Long Trail”. At first I was a little intrigued by the site because it is a site for honoring British soldiers in the First World War. Confused, I proceeded to read through the entire site and I found ways to research soldiers. After a tremendous amount of reading and searching, my findings led me to “The Commonwealth War Graves Commission” website. While on this site, I searched their database and found a list of soldiers with the name “Mathieson”. I sorted through them and found the above information on who I believe to be the same Robert Mathieson that I was first assigned.
