William Ambrose Hess' photo is on the Hackensack Heroes Memorial which was assembled by the citizens of Hackensack shortly after the Great War's end.

We do not know at this time, May 17, 2011, how William Ambrose Hess gave his life during his service in World War I, but let us not forget his sacrifice.
