Vince Puglisi, a 1940 Hackensack High School graduate, is the youngest of four brothers who all served during World War II. Phil, his oldest brother graduated Hackensack High School around 1929, and was the only one to be afforded a college education. He graduated from college in 1935. Tom graduated Hackensack High School in 1935 and Sam graduated Hackensack High School in 1937. Vince joined the service with his brother Tom on October 17, 1942 with the 286th M.M. Ordinance Co. which was attached to General Patton's 3rd Army. Vince serviced vehicles and Tom serviced Small arms. They were stationed 2 or 3 miles behind the combat zone as the Army advanced through Europe. Bob Meli 2009 |
