            Sean Abram Stein is a 1998 graduate from Hackensack High School. Upon graduation, Sean attended the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, Maryland, where he graduated in May of 2002 as a commissioned officer with the rank of Ensign. In his junior year at the Academy, he was selected and was approved to be a Submariner “Submarine Service”.

            After graduation, Sean attended the Nuclear Propulsion School in Charleston, South Carolina and then the Nuclear Reactor School at a GE facility in upstate New York. Sean was then assigned to the
U.S.S. Providence based in Groton, Conn. As the Nuclear Officer aboard the boat, Sean was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade.

            In 2005 after completing three years on the Providence, Sean was reassigned to Nuclear Reactors in Washington D.C. where he earned two Master’s degrees and was promoted to Lieutenant.

            After fulfilling his assignment in Washington, Stein was then assigned to the U.S.S. Pittsburgh, again based in Groton. Sean was promoted to Lieutenant Commander/ Chief Engineer aboard the Pittsburgh where he continues to serve today (November 2011).
