We do not realize the tremendous risk in preparing for military service, especially in the Air Force, during World War II.  Here is one of the best and brightest fliers and flight instructors in the nation, who had graduated from Hackensack High School
(his name is listed on the original Wall Unit), crashed and died at Elgin Field Florida, only 83 days after Pearl Harbor on
February 28, 9142.
