Click here to view a brief article in
The Evening Record dated Monday July 16, 1917
, telling of Charles G. Stone and
Edwin H. Lutkins
arriving safely in France with the
Red Cross Unit.

I do not know at the present time (July 28, 2012) if
G. Charles Stone and Dwight D. Stone are related in any way, but they are both from Hackensack and enlisted in the service early on.

Only a week later, because it was so early on,  U.S. soldiers were arriving overseas in France. There appeared another brief article in
The Evening Record dated Wednesday July 25, 1917, telling of Jack Ackerson arriving in France and Charles G. Stone and
Edwin Lutkins
already in France with the Red Cross.
