On December 2, 2010 I received a veteran’s form from
Alan E. Benson.  He was living in
Goshen, New York.  Alan E. Benson attended Hackensack High School from 1958 to 1961. Then, he graduated.  After High School in 1961,
Alan E. Benson entered service in the Army and served in Badkissingen (Spelling of the city is how it appeared on the form) Germany until 1964.  This time period was the early stages of the Vietnam conflict. 
Alan E. Benson reached the rank of SP4. 
The term SP4 means that Alan E. Benson was a Specialist and he had reached the 4th level of the pay scale. As of June of 2011, I do not know what Alan E. Benson was a specialist in during his service in the Army.
